Market Insights
Technical Level: Nifty opened with a minor gap-up and consolidated in a range, forming support near 23,350. The index reversed from this level and moved higher until the start of the second half, facing resistance near 23,460, before trading in a range toward the close. Overall, Nifty ended in positive territory.
Advance-Decline Ratio: Market breadth remained positive, with 2,344 stocks advancing against 1,232 declining, resulting in an A/D ratio of 1.90, indicating broad-based buying support.
The Big Picture: Trump confirmed that US officials held a 3 hour meeting with Iran’s delegation at the UN General Assembly and called it “very good.” Iran reportedly offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within a week if certain conditions are met. Markets did not wait for the fine print. Brent fell for the 6th consecutive session. That 6 session slide has taken crude from above $107 to below $100. For India, that move alone changes the inflation calculus, the rate outlook, and the current account picture.
FII/DII Activity (September 22, 2026): Institutional flows remained mixed, with DIIs net buyers at ₹4,120 crore, while FIIs were net sellers at ₹3,810 crore, indicating strong domestic buying support despite continued foreign outflows.
Watch Out For Tomorrow
IPO Corner: Varmora Granito IPO is closing for subscription tomorrow, making the IPO robust sentiment.
Macro: USA President Trump and President Xi Summit & UN General Assembly data is scheduled to be released tomorrow.
Market Watch: Nifty heads into tomorrow with 23,500 as the key resistance and 23,350 as crucial support. Global cues will remain in focus, with crude oil movements, the Trump-Xi summit and geopolitical developments likely to influence sentiment, while FII-DII activity could add volatility and shape the market’s next move.
